Jetpac Review

Let’s start with the most important.

We’ll go into more details later on.

What is Jetpac? Jetpac is an eSIM.

What is an eSIM? In this case, it’s the internet on your phone abroad and at home. Affordable. Reliable. The same internet that you would get if you bought a tourist SIM card on arrival at the airport. Only with Jetpac, or other eSIMs, you don’t have to go to that shop, wait in that long line, and buy anything.

You can buy an eSIM from your phone. It’s very easy.

Important note: Your phone must be eSIM-compatible for this to work. For example, all iPhones starting from iPhone SE (2020), and iPhone XR support eSIM.

What Is an eSIM?

An eSIM, short for embedded SIM, is a technology that enables you to purchase internet for your phone through an app without physically handling your SIM card.

Usually, for local internet abroad, you’d get a local SIM card and swap it with your current one. But with eSIM, no need to switch SIM cards; just adjust your phone settings – press a few buttons, and wait a moment.

Mostly, you’re getting ONLY internet with a travel eSIM, no calls or sms, not even incoming messages.

We, personally, use eSIMs since 2021. We use them everywhere and in all countries where we travel. We use them also at home, because with our travel schedule, it makes more sense to use an eSIM than to buy a data plan in Latvia.

Why Use an eSIM? Why Use Jetpac?

Thanks to their flexibility and ease of use, eSIMs are the perfect choice for avid travelers. Although some eSIMs may cost more than traditional SIM cards, they are easier to buy, understand, and set up compared to regular tourist SIM cards.

With user-friendly eSIM app interfaces, buying and understanding an eSIM is much easier than navigating travel SIM card plans.

  • eSIM cards can be activated and loaded with a data plan before the trip. You have a working SIM card right away – no need to search for a mobile shop to purchase one.
  • With an eSIM, there’s no need to change phone numbers. With traditional tourist SIM cards, you get a new phone number for each country you visit. It may cause you to miss important calls or messages. With Jetpac (or other travel eSIM), you keep using your phone original phone number.
  • You can have both – your original phone number AND affordable internet abroad. With eSIM, you can keep your original number regardless of where you are traveling. While some phones support 2 SIM cards, many don’t.
  • It’s very easy and very safe. You buy internet from your phone. And, you have internet right from the very beginning of the trip. You can call a taxi or check the map. You can see the up-to-date currency exchange rates or the actual bus schedule. You can have the sense of safety from the very beginning.
  • No more waiting in long lines to buy a tourist SIM card.

With user-friendly app interface, buying and understanding an eSIM from Jetpac is much easier than navigating travel SIM card plans.

Jetpac – The Top Pick for Your Next Trip

eSIM technology has been around for years now.

There are several providers and several apps you can choose from. Jetpac is one of them. Born in the modern city-state of Singapore, Jetpac offers travelers some very affordable eSIM plans.

Their international data plans work in 100+ countries. The coolest feature, in our opinion, is Jetpac’s Global SIM. You buy one SIM card and use it wherever you go. No need to buy a new one every time you travel and no need to install a new SIM before each trip. Buy once, top it up, and stay connected hassle-free during all your trips.

If necessary, you can also purchase an eSIM card for each country. The prices start at just 1 USD. Whether you’re a budget-conscious backpacker or a luxury traveler, finding an affordable data plan is always a smart move.

Why pay more if you can pay less?

Regional packs are also available for Southeast Asia, Asia-Pacific, Europe, North America, the Middle East and North Africa, and Latin America.

How to Buy and Set up Jetpac eSIM?

Purchasing and setting up a Jetpac eSIM is simple.

No tech school degree needed. 😃

  1. Start by downloading the app on your phone (for iOS and Android) and creating an account. Go to jetpacglobal.com for that.
  2. Then, view and select data plans – Global, Multi-Country, or Single-Country.
  3. Once you’ve chosen your data plan, make a purchase.
  4. Setting up the eSIM only takes a couple of minutes. Simply follow the app’s instructions to activate the eSIM. In your phone settings, switch on “Data Roaming” to ensure your eSIM functions properly. THIS IS IMPORTANT! IF YOU DON’T DO THIS, THE ESIM WON’T WORK.

Do step 4 once you land or arrive in the country, and only for your eSIM, not the main SIM. See the screenshot below. I have renamed Jetpac eSIM to Jetpac global (I just bought a Global eSIM for only a few dollars and in two minutes, how cool is that?), so I always know which one is which.

See also the “Mobile Data” part.

This is where you can see what SIM you are using for the internet. I’m using “Jetpac global”.

If I click on “Jetpac global”, I’ll be able to enable data roaming for it

That’s it. Now you are ready to use the eSIM.
